We left Greece on March 26th and have been busy visiting and being blessed! We rented a car and were able to visit a missionary friend in Germany and then were on to Switzerland where we were able to take Caitlyn to Heidiland where the classic "Heidi" children's story was inspired. What a beautiful place!
While in Switzerland we were able to visit with Erika Waser who was a missonary nurse in the Sudan with Phil's parents. We stayed with her two days and she certainly took care of us! Thank you Erika!!
We then headed back to Germany to catch our flight to Moscow.

A number of things came into play to delay us by a day in catching our flight...
We found out that our travel agent somehow missed our confirmation to book the flight so we found out we did not have tickets!
Phil was able to book them late the night before our morning flight.
Soon after he booked Caitlyn woke up crying and crying. Turns out that she was coming down with her first every ear infection! We have all, except Levi, had terrible colds since leaving Greece.
About 2am Phil and I made the decision that catching our 6:30am flight was not going to happen! I really felt that for whatever reason the Lord did not want us on that flight. First the flight was not booked, then the ear infection.
Phil went into the lobby to get online and try and change our flight. The Lord again already had us covered because somehow the flight Phil thougt he booked earlier never went through! Thank you Lord as we averted having the hassle of trying to change the flight.
Caitlyn was in and out of sleep waking about every twenty minutes crying from the pain. I had no pain medication on me. We were staying at a brand new hotel, we were actually their very first customers, and so they had not received their first aid supply yet. It was heartbreaking to have her in so much pain and not be able to do anything! Around 4am or so Caitlyn finally went to sleep and her ear was back to normal. Thank you Lord!
We got seated on our flight and in the critical take off our plane was struck by lightning! Help Lord!! I thought to myself "did we miss our flight yesterday because now it is our time to be with Jesus???" We did not know what happened but heard a loud boom, followed by flashes, then turbulence. The fact that Phil was unsettled in what happened did not sit well with me!!! He asked me if I saw any flames coming from the engine which I did not. The pilot did not come on for over 15 minutes to tell us what happened and that all systems were ago. Then about an hour later the pilot came back on to tell us that we needed to return to Germany to have the plane checked out. We finally arrived in Moscow after a very long day and spent two wonderful nights with our missonary friends there. Again, hospitality was abundant; thank you Steve and Kathy!!!
